Scientific paper

The two-phase clinopyroxene of the Luna-24 regolith was examined by X-ray diffraction in order to determine the degree of order in the distribution of Fe and Mg between the M1 and M2 positions of the pigeonite phase. Coordinates of basic atoms of the pigeonite phase are presented along with interatomic distances and valence angles. The present data are compared with data on intracrystalline Fe and Mg distribution in clinopyroxenes from Apollo samples.
