Seven 1.5° × 1.5° fields in which ``guest stars'' had been reported by ancient oriental astronomers have been surveyed at 610 MHz for radio remnants with the Westerbork Telescope. No diffuse radio emission was detected. A list of discrete radio sources in the fields is given together with suggested optical identifications for those sources with b < 15°.
