The redshift of the cluster of galaxies at the position of the x-ray source E 1455+2232 is measured based on spectrophotometry of four member galaxies. It is found to be z = 0.259, significantly lower than the value of z ∼ 0.7 proposed by Schild et al. The line-of-sight velocity dispersion is ∼600 km s-1 and the x-ray luminosity in the 0.5 .5-keV energy range at the source is calculated to be 9 × 1044 erg s-1. The redshift of the cluster A 2001, which is centered ∼0.5deg from the x-ray position, is also measured. It is shown that A 2001 is physically distinct from the new cluster probably associated with the x-ray source.
