The methods of Osipkov (1979) and Merritt (1985) are extended to produce slightly flattened spheroid models in round potentials. The shape of the velocity ellipsoid, which is aligned along local spherical polar coordinate vectors, depends only on the two parameters of the model. The kinematics and distribution of a sample of halo blue horizontal branch stars observed by Sommer-Larsen et al. (1990) are fitted by the model, which has a flattened density law with an axis ratio of q = 0.86.
