A search for nucleon decays induced by magnetic monopoles has been carried out with a 3000-ton water Cerenkov detector by two independent methods. The cross section and velocity dependent limits on the monopole flux were found to be less than 2.5 x 10 to the -15th per square centimeter per second per steradian for monopole velocities between 5 x 10 to the -5th and 10 to the -3rd and sigma = 100 mb at 90 percent confidence level. The search for low-energy neutrinos (between 30 and 52 MeV) from the sun gives another limit, assuming 1 mb cross section and monopole velocity of 10 to the -3rd.
