Radio images of ionized bright rim structures in NGC 2264, IC 1396, and
S 140 show discrete condensations which are not optically evident. These
condensations may be the result of Rayleigh-Taylor instabilities at the
interface between the ionized and neutral phases of the interstellar
medium.
