In Atlantic sediments, Fe, Mn, Co, Ni, Ga, Cr, V, Ba and Sr have both a
lithogenous and a non-lithogenous component. Partition between the two
components is described and it is shown that there is a decrease in the
proportion of lithogenous Ni and Co in mid-ocean areas.
