We present different three-body models used in nuclear physics. Microscopic and non-microscopic models are briefly described, with emphasis on the hyperspherical formalism. Recent applications are presented on 6He spectroscopy, on α + n + n scattering phase shifts, and on the 7Be(p,γ)8B radiative-capture reaction.
