The Quadrantid meteor stream has been modeled by replacing the myriad of particles it contains by 10 test meteoroids. The effects of planetary perturbations on the orbits of these particles have been evaluated by solving their equations of motion using a standard fourth-order Runge-Kutta technique with a self-adjusting step-length. The time period 300 BC to AD 3780 has been investigated. It is shown that, during a broad time interval 1100-1800 yr before the present, the stream had a different orbit from its present one, with a much smaller perihelion distance and a lower inclination.
