The dependence of the amplitude and phase of the 71-s oscillations in DQ Her on the system's binary phase, observed by Patterson, Robinson, and Nather (1978), are interpreted in terms of obscuration by structure on the edge of the accretion disk. It is argued that such obscuration, in conjunction with the eclipses, will lead to the asymmetry in the He II 4686-A emission-line profile reported by Chanan, Nelson, and Margon (1978).
