The multistep algorithm of adaptive control, proposed in the present paper, is based on a prior selection of the basic modes of programmed control, on the prediction of spacecraft motion over a given interval of time, the successive improvement of the perturbation model and the phase coordinate vector, and the calculation of corrections to the control parameters, for which the predicted final error vanishes. Implementation of the algorithm requires the use of a high-speed computer in an autonomous control system. Illustrative examples are presented.
