Results are reported for observations of the 9-cm (3335.481-MHz) F = 1-1 spectrum of (C-12)H and the 2.6-mm (115,271.2-MHz) J = 1.0 spectrum of (C-12)O toward Zeta Oph. It is found that the strongest emission in either spectrum is located in a component at an LSR velocity of about -0.7 km/s, which corresponds to the neutral-bearing cloud of Hobbs (1973) at a heliocentric velocity of -14.4 km/s. The full width at half-maximum of this emission component is determined to be less than 0.5 km/s, which yields a thoroughly nominal b value of less than 0.3 km/s. The extent to which the presence of the narrow-lined cloud may have compromised the curve-of-growth analysis of elemental abundances is estimated, and the amount of carbon that may reasonably be expected to reside in this region is considered.
