During a 5 ks observation with the Chandra X-ray Observatory on 2007 August 1, we detected a bright X-ray source consistent with the location of the neutron star Low Mass X-ray Binary SLX 1737-282. The Chandra position of R.A. = 17h 40m 42s.83, Decl. = -28d 18' 08".4 (equinox 2000.0, 90% confidence uncertainty = 0".6) is within the ROSAT error circle for the LMXB (in 't Zand et al. 2002, A&A, 389, L43).
