We considered features of the decentered radial magnetic dipole within the model of point field sources with imaginary magnetic charges located inside a star. We analysed the application of the model to describe the field configuration on the stellar surface. Expressions for the magnetic field intensity on the decentered dipole poles were derived. In the case that the dipole sizes are much less than the stellar radius these equations are in excellent agreement with results of other investigations.
