We present results from a Spitzer study of the Corona Australis (CrA) molecular cloud region. CrA has been observed with IRAC and MIPS as part of the IRAC GTO program and the Gould Belt Legacy survey. Relatively nearby at a distance of 130 pc, CrA is one of the closest regions known to be actively forming stars, particularly within its embedded association, the Coronet. We classify 40 young stellar objects (YSOs) in CrA through Spitzer and near-infrared 2MASS photometry. Included among these YSOs is an embedded, Class I YSO called IRAS 32 (SMM 8) for which we have also obtained additional data with the Submillimeter Array (SMA). The SMA, with its excellent angular resolution, can detect the cold outer regions of the disk, and Spitzer is sensitive to the warm inner disk and the star. Archival single-dish 850 micron SCUBA maps of the region provide a good estimate of the disk + envelope mass. Taken together, these data allow us to disentangle star from disk, and disk from envelope, the first step toward establishing the evolutionary timescales for the early stages of star formation (Lommen et al. 2008; Jorgensen et al. 2007). In this poster, we explore the properties and distribution of the population of YSOs in CrA, and take a closer look at IRAS 32.
