Accretion: Accretion Disks, X-Rays: Stars

Scientific paper

X-ray novae undergo spectral transitions during their eruption caused by
the decreasing accretion rate onto a black hole. We propose a new model
of an accretion disk with a corona which explains the nature of these
transitions. The model is uniquely parameterized by the mass of the
black hole, temporary accretion rate and the viscosity parameter alpha.
