R Aquarii is not just a binary star system. It displays a rich variety of behaviors, similar to microquasars. We attempt to explain these behaviors with a picture that includes the Mira red giant, a (possibly magnetic) white dwarf, accretion, relativistic jets, and shock heated ejecta lobes. Evidence for the interplay of these components of the system is presented. We attempt to demonstrate consistency in their interaction. We discuss Chandra X-ray, VLA radio, FUSE EUV and optical observations extending over at least a decade.
