The Galactic Center has been the target of many deep X-ray observations with the Chandra space telescope, leading to the discovery of 9017 X-ray point sources. The sources are likely to be a mixed population of accreting binaries in the Galactic Center, but little else is known of their nature. We obtained JHKs imaging of the 17' x 17' region around Sgr A*, an area containing 4339 of these X-ray sources, with the ISPI camera on the 4m CTIO Telescope. We use the very good positional accuracy of the Chandra data to find potential IR stellar counterparts within this extremely dense field. While it is not possible to establish
the authenticity of the matches with astrometry and photometry
alone, we compare the numbers of X-ray/infrared positional matches
to the numbers that would be expected random positional alignments and find that 200 of the 2399 IR/X-ray matches are true physical associations located in the Galactic Center.
Support for this work was provided by NASA through Chandra Award Number AR8-9005X issued by the Chandra X-ray Observatory Center, which is
operated by the SAO for and on behalf of NASA under contract NAS8-03060.
