Coincident detection of gravitational waves (GWs) and high energy neutrinos (HENs) arriving from a common astronomical source would enable us to answer fundamental scientific questions which would be out of reach with a single type of detectors. We present a joint analysis method for data from GW detectors, such as LIGO and Virgo, and HEN detectors, such as IceCube and ANTARES. Due to their precisely reconstructed direction and time, event candidates from HEN detectors can be used as triggers for GW data analysis. Expected sensitivity and status of the analysis will be presented, along with a survey of cosmic source candidates to describe the possible scientific reach of the analysis.
