Planets are thought to be formed in protoplanetary disks which are associated with young stars. Recent technological development of infrared and radio observations has made it possible to analyze dust emission and molecular transition lines from the disks in detail. Here the author introduces the recent progress of modeling physical and chemical structure of the disks as well as observational diagnostics of the disk structure by means of the molecular lines.
