A long-term photometric study of the recurrent nova RS~Oph is presented. The basic physical characteristics have been obtained using statistical calibrations and the post-outburst light curves secured in four colours. The monitoring of flickering activity covers the period from when no flickering is observed up to the time when flickering variations are very marked. The possible source of the flickering is discussed.
