The super-soft phase in the outburst of a nova is of high importance since only during that phase we are able to directly observe with X-ray observations those areas in a nova where the essential physical processes are going on and which produce via hydrogen burning the energy of the nova outburst. Spectral fits allow us to determine physical parameters like effective temperature, luminosity and radius of the white dwarf. The soft X-ray radiation shows a wide variety of variability on many different timescales.
