VERITAS is a third generation ground-based gamma-ray observatory comprising an array of four 12-m telescopes located near Tucson, Arizona. Currently, the world's most sensitive very high energy (VHE) gamma ray observatory, it has completed two full years of observations and compiled nearly 1800 hours of data. About 40% of these hours were spent observing blazars for potential new discoveries, dedicated long-duration multiwavelength campaigns and target of opportunity programs. Results of the VERITAS blazar program will be presented focusing on the discoveries in VHE emission of two new high-frequency peaked BL Lacs (HBLs): 1ES 0806+524 and RGB J0710+591; and three new intermediate-frequency peaked BL Lacs (IBLs): 3C 66A, W Comae and PKS 1424+240. A brief summary will be given on the implications these data have on blazar emission models.
