For these a few years, we have been conducting an all sky survey for dark clouds using the optical data base "the Digitized Sky Survey I" (DSS). We recently completed an extensive extinction map covering the entire galactic plane, and now we are compiling all of the dark clouds found in the map. In this article, we introduce our project itself and the method to produce the extinction map.
