In its first year, Nova Cygni 1992 has set remarkable astrophysical records. It is the first nova to be observed across the entire electromagnetic spectrum and is the most thoroughly documented event in the history of nova studies. The brightest nova in recent years, Nova Cygni 1992 peaked at a magnitude of 4.3.
