MAXI/GSC detects a new outburst of an X-ray source at a position consistent with a recurrent soft X-ray transient RX J1709.5-2639 (1RXS J170930.2-263927, XTE J1709-267). The 2-10 keV X-ray flux increased since around 2010 July 2 (UT), and reached to 84+-5 mCrab on 2010 July 8. These results are similar to those obtained during the latest outburst of RX J1709.5-2639 in Nov. 2007 (ATel #1302, also see ATel #255), and the interval between the outbursts is also consistent with the 2-3 year recurrence time of this transient source (ATel #1302).
