X-ray jets should become increasingly prominent relative to the radio jets and cores of quasars at redshifts greater than 1, due to the increase of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) energy density. We show here some of the predictions derived from the assumption that the X-ray emission is due to inverse Compton scattering on the CMB. While we do not yet have examples of such extreme, X-ray jet-dominated systems, the lack of complete, well-defined samples at large redshift prevents definite conclusions.
