The masses of central bodies in active nuclei of 16 galaxies are determined using the observed gas velocities and the characteristic dimensions of their gaseous envelopes. It is assumed that Doppler gas motions in active nuclei are balanced by the gravitational attraction of the central body. The typical mass of a central body is about 10 million to 100 million solar masses. The luminosities of the objects under consideration are lower than the corresponding Eddington limit.
