Photographic surface photometry to very faint isophotal levels is presented for four giant galaxies in the clusters Abell 2197 and Abell 2199. Two of these galaxies, when traced to very large radii of the order of 300 kpc, give no indication that the total luminosity is converging. Possible reasons for this are discussed, and the implications for calculations of the total cluster mass are considered.
