The notions that the black-hole background geometry at a stationary state is a member of the Kerr-Newman family of metrics and any charge on the hole is small enough to be treated as a perturbation on the Kerr black-hole background are briefly discussed, after which the paper presents the stationary non-axisymmetric multipole solutions of the Maxwell equations for the perturbing electromagnetic field on the Kerr background. Appropriate boundary conditions, such as the condition that no physically well-behaved observer sees infinite fields near the hole, are imposed and integrability conditions for those equations are used.
