From GALEX Deep Imaging Survey of the Chandra Deep Field South, we selected about 300 Lyman Break Galaxies at z ˜ 1 using the FUV-dropout technique. This is the first large sample of Lyman Break Galaxies in this redshift range. The main interest of this sample is to secure complementary data that was unavailable for Lyman Break Galaxies at higher (z > 2-3) redshift: high resolution HST imaging (in the GOODS-South field) allowing to detect disks and rest-frame mid-infrared flux densities allowing to safely estimate bolometric dust luminosities and therefore total Star Formation Rates (i.e. ultraviolet + dust). The vast majority of Lyman Break Galaxies with an IR detection are also Luminous infrared galaxies (lower limit set by the limiting flux density of Spitzer/MIPS observations).
