Scientific paper

The paper reports the detection of radio emission at centimeter wavelengths from the slow nova RR Telescopi and the peculiar emission-line star RX Puppis using a 64-m telescope. The interpretation of the data is discussed in terms of the nature of these stars. The detection of radio sources within or near the Uhuru error boxes of 3U 1746-37, 3U 1258-61, 3U 1223-62, and 3U 1642-45 (= Ara X-1) is also reported. In the case of the latter two, the associated radio sources are resolved by the beam and appear to be small H II regions.
