New radial velocities are presented for stellar and circumstellar lines of VY CMa, VX Sgr, S Per, and PZ Cas. For all these stars, the photospheric velocities are found to be nearly central to the OH 1612 MHz emission features on at least one occasion. For VY CMa, the photospheric velocity shifted between 1973 and 1975 from that of the long-wavelength OH 1612 MHz feature to the central velocity. A similar shift occurred in the spectrum of VX Sgr between 1970 and 1971. The supergiant maser stars and long-period variables are compared, and some speculative suggestions are made regarding the reason for the difference in outflow velocities between the two types of sources.
