Energetic particles ejected from the sun during flare events may encounter interplanetary plasma/field conditions which deviate considerably from the quiet-time values used normally to describe particle propagation. This is due to the presence of a hydromagnetic shock emitted from the sun at the time of the explosion. In the framework of theoretical blast-wave model which incorporates the interaction with plane-polarized Alfven waves, the changes in different terms of the Fokker-Planck equation describing energetic particle propagation are analyzed. The shock effect on energy changes and on the transport coefficients is discussed.
