Two dozen spectrograms of the eclipsing binary RS CVn, taken over the past ten years, are examined. Variable Ca II H and K emission and Balmer-line emission are seen. The variability is examined for correlations with both phase and position of the migrating photometric wave, but the limited data fail to reveal any clear correlation. There is an indication that at least H-alpha is strongest at primary minimum. The Ca II emission is consistent with a chromospheric origin, but the H-alpha emission is very broad, and may arise from circumstellar material. The secondary star appears to be metal deficient.
