New monochromatic isophotal contour maps are presented for the planetary nebulae NGC 7009 and 2440. Electronographic exposures have been obtained through narrow band interference filters centered on the wavelengths of forbidden O III 5007 A, forbidden O II 3727 A, forbidden Ne III 3868 A, forbidden N II 6583 A, and H I 4861, 6563 A. The structure of both nebulae is shown to be characterized by bright unresolved condensations which exhibit enhanced low excitation emission. These are interpreted as being high density neutral mass components, and are thought to exist throughout the nebular shells on scales very much less than the 'seeing' limited resolution.
