It is shown that the shells of Be stars should be considered as consisting of separate condensations in order to obtain better agreement between theoretical estimates of the luminosity of such stars and observations of their shells. Analytical estimates are given for some shell parameters, including the relation between electron concentration and distance from the center of a star, the optical thickness of a shell, and the number of condensations. As an example, the parameters of the shell of gamma Cas are estimated.
