Some geometrical and physical constraints on the parameters of the
binary system containing the radiopulsar PSR 1913 + 16 are considered.
It is pointed out that a neutron star of moderate or small mass may be
paired with a red dwarf (or a subdwarf) stripped of its outer layers by
the supernova explosion.
