If the metagalaxy we live in is finite and surrounded by other metagalaxies within a large universe, then it is shown that radiation from outside will produce a bright ring in the direction closest to the 'edge' of our metagalaxy. The possible absence of any such effect is also discussed and it is argued that the 3 K blackbody radiation might not have originated within our metagalaxy. Separately, the appearance of the outside world (radiation incoming from infinity) to an observer freely falling into a Schwarzschild black hole is calculated.-
