We propose deep, high-resolution B and R WIYN-S2KB imaging of 6 newly-discovered low-z damped Ly(alpha) absorbing galaxies (0.091< z< 0.680). The images we obtain will allow us to identify foreground galaxies, measure their luminosities, colors, and, most importantly, study their morphologies. We wish to reliably reach R> 25; this will allow us to catalog galaxies as faint as 0.02L^* at z=0.680 and 0.0005L^* at z=0.091. The excellent seeing possible at the WIYN telescope (sometimes ≤0.6 arcsec) will enable us to identify structure on the scale of 800 h^-1 pc at z=0.091 and 2.3 h^-1 kpc at z=0.680. This is a resubmission of WIYN Queue proposals that were awarded time in the high-priority Queues (KP3022 and KP98B-0422) for Fall 1997 and Fall 1998. Only objects that can be observed during Spring 1999 are included. In the event that the Fall 1998 observations can not be completed due to inclement weather or time restrictions, we would like to put the remaining objects back into the Queue. Our past experience has been that incomplete programs were removed from the Queue at the end of the semester. If all the proposed observations are completed during Fall 1998, any Spring 1999 observing time allocated to us could be released back to NOAO.
