The Mariotti Center (JMMC) has been created by INSU in september 2000. It aims in coordinating the french efforts in high angular resolution in order to set the users in an optimal operational position. To do so, it is necessary to: 1. fulfill the software needs generated by the new interferometric developments, especially the VLTI, 2. rationalize and control as far as possible the processing of the interferometric signal, 3. provide service and academic formation. We describe the structure of the Mariotti Center and its development plans.
