We propose further coude echelle spectrograph observations of a carefully selected all-sky sample of young solar analogs as part of a larger effort to understand the early circumsolar environment of the Earth and other terrestrial planets. These 38 nearby (d < 25 pc) targets were selected as those stars most closely resembling the Sun prior to 3.8 Ga. The selection is based on lack of close companions, bolometric luminosity, zero-age main sequence status and high coronal X- ray luminosity indicative of the more rapid rotation and increased activity expected of a young Sun. High resolution, multi-epoch (R > 10^5) echelle observations are needed to obtain important measurements not reported in the literature and verify the nature of these stars. Specifically, the spectra will be used to (1) identify and eliminate spectroscopic binaries; (2) obtain mean radial velocities; (3) measure the Ca II H and K line emission; (4) determine metallicities; and (5) measure the lithium abundances.
