Analysis of ten 62 A/mm electronographic spectra of Cen X-3 (4000-5000 A) obtained over a five-day interval in March 1976 reveals periodic radial velocity variations in the He II 4686 wavelength emission line, with a semiamplitude of 400 km/sec, in anticorrelation with the lower amplitude radial velocity variations of the Balmer, He I, and He II absorption lines. This suggests that during at least two orbital cycles the He II emission line was produced near the X-ray source, probably in an accretion disk.
