Two-fluid theory is used to analyze the wave motion excited in a fully ionized plasma by gravity. For wave propagation in the direction of the gravitational force, transverse waves are not affected by the gravitational force but longitudinal waves are greatly affected. There is a cutoff frequency, such that all longitudinal waves with frequency greater than the cutoff value will always be damped even for a perfect plasma of infinite electrical conductivity.
