The generation of neutral-pion-decay gamma rays by cosmic-ray collisions is directly related to the generation of positrons, which are the decay product of positive pions. Based on the recent data of galactic gamma-ray observation, a galactic cosmic-ray distribution is deduced which consists of a core component and a flat galactic component. Positrons generated by this distribution generally agreed with the experimental data. It was found that below 8 GeV, positrons have their origin from the galactic center.
