The relation between the period and magnitude changes of Delta Cephei stars is studied by analyzing the relation between the period and the Fourier series coefficients of the magnitude changes. It is shown that light curves compressed by a constant factor obtain a form quite similar to that of color curves. Because of the similarity, only light curves are studied in the analysis reported here, and it is the coefficients of the spectral representation which are examined. Graphs of mean Fourier coefficients for different values of the log of the period are presented. The importance of the eccentricity and the peak phase of the curves is explained, and the relation between some results and the theory of pulsation is discussed.
