UBV photometry of the spectroscopic binary systems HD 152667 and HD 72754, both of which exhibit single spectra and have a relatively high mass function, is analyzed. Both stars are found to be distorted by tidal forces, and the nature of the unseen secondary stars is considered. The masses of the secondaries are shown to be 7 to 8.5 times larger than the mass of the primary for HD 152667 and 23 to 32 times larger for HD 72754. It is concluded that the unseen companion in HD 152667 is probably a B4 main-sequence star and that the invisible secondary in HD 72754 could be a collapsed object or an underluminous star. The possibility is noted that the secondary in HD 72754 might be a black hole.
