Optical positions have been measured with rms accuracy no worse than 0.3 arcsec for 21 objects (19 of them QSOs) associated with extended 3C or 4C radio sources. For those sources with compact central components, the positions remove the discrepancies between the positions of the optical object and central component. For sources without central components, the optical objects generally lie closer than before to the radio-source axis.
