Observations of the 166-alpha and 239-gamma recombination line profiles
of W51 show that the gamma line is twice as wide as the alpha line,
although the two lines are at nearly the same frequency. This extra
broadening can be explained in terms of the theory of impact broadening
by inelastic electron collisions, if the electron density is 1000/cu cm.
