Redshifts for 719 galaxies, of which 505 are from the Shapley-Ames (1932) catalog, are presented which were measured from more than 1000 plates or were obtained in other programs during the past 20 yr. The latter include velocities of radio galaxies determined during early identification programs, previously unpublished redshifts of a few identified Bologna radio sources, and redshifts of faint Sc I galaxies obtained as part of the calibration steps for the Hubble constant. The internal, external, and zero-point errors are determined, the results are compared with those of other observers, and the external errors of the other studies are evaluated. A test is performed for the Roberts (1972) effect of systematic redshift errors with velocity, and galaxies with unusual spectra are discussed. The redshift distribution is examined along with the mean random motion and the nature of the Shapley-Ames catalog. It is found that there are no galaxies with velocities smaller than 100 km/s when those in the Local Group and the Virgo cluster are excluded.
